PRESS RELEASE — FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Turkish Shipyard AvA Yachts to Present World Premiere of Kando 85 Explorer Yacht M/Y V at Cannes Yachting Festival and Monaco Yacht Show
Delivered to her owner this summer after successful sea trials, the first hull of the new Kando 85 series packs four full decks, 200 GT of interior volume and a sea-trial-proven range of over 5,000 nautical miles into a sub-24-metre load line length.
ANTALYA, TÜRKİYE — 14 August 2026 — AvA Yachts, the founder-led Turkish builder of long-range explorer yachts, will present the world premiere of M/Y V, the first hull of its new Kando 85 series, at the Cannes Yachting Festival (8–13 September 2026), followed by an appearance at the Monaco Yacht Show (23–26 September 2026). Designed and built entirely at the company’s facility in the Antalya Free Trade Zone and delivered to her owner in July 2026, M/Y V marks the first time a Turkish-built explorer superyacht of this class appears back-to-back at the Mediterranean’s two most prestigious shows.
The Kando 85 brings the DNA of AvA Yachts’ larger Kando series — steel hull, aluminum superstructure, ocean-crossing range — below the 24-metre load line for the first time. At 25.70 metres LOA she carries four full decks and approximately 200 gross tons of interior volume, the hallmark of the Kando series and a level of space and comfort well beyond three-deck yachts of the same length. Sea trials off Antalya recorded a range of more than 5,000 nautical miles at 9 knots, extending to approximately 12,000 nautical miles at passage speed — enough to cross from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean on a single 24,000-litre fuel load.
“Drawing a yacht is one thing; bringing her to the water exactly as you drew her is another. Standing on the deck of M/Y V, I feel two decades of dedication, the handprint of every craftsman in Antalya, and the pride of Turkish engineering all at once. Launching a yacht of this quality from our own yard, with our own people, and taking her to the world stage is one of the greatest honours an engineer can experience.” — Atilla Kucukdiker, Founder, AvA Yachts
Comfort on board is measured, not merely claimed. Independent, ISO-accredited laboratory testing recorded approximately 50 dBA in the owner’s cabin at cruising speed — the level of a quiet library — while vibration in the accommodation areas was measured below the threshold of perception. A full-beam owner’s suite with panoramic windows sits on the main deck; four cabins host eight guests, with a foredeck Jacuzzi and generous exterior areas. Zero-speed fin stabilizers and dual Starlink connectivity are standard. Thanks to her 23.90-metre load line length, M/Y V is engineered so her owner can run her — subject to flag state regulations, crew is optional rather than obligatory, with dedicated quarters for two to three crew for owners who prefer professional service.
A Growing Fleet
M/Y V is the third superyacht delivered by AvA Yachts, following the 33.5-metre Kando 110s M/Y Lady Caroline (2019) and M/Y Infinity Nine (2021), the latter holding the Monaco Yacht Club’s SEA Index environmental efficiency certification. Four yachts are currently in build at the Antalya yard: M/Y Helene, the third Kando 110, contracted to her owner for delivery in 2027; Kando 85 Hull #2, the sister ship of M/Y V, available for sale with delivery in approximately 18 months; and the first two hulls of the all-aluminum, three-deck Voyage 90 series, both available with delivery in approximately 10 to 14 months. New-order Kando 85 pricing starts from €7,825,000 (excl. VAT).
Founded in 2005 by naval architect Atilla Kucukdiker, a graduate of Istanbul Technical University with more than three decades of engineering experience, AvA Yachts builds its range around two distinct characters: the steel-hull, four-deck, high-volume Kando explorer family from 24 to 50 metres, and the all-aluminum, three-deck Voyage series. Furniture, upholstery, stainless steel work, mechanical outfitting and paint are all carried out in-house at the 5,000 m² covered facility by the yard’s own craftsmen.
“We build the yacht around the owner — never the other way around. In the coming period we are extending that philosophy with a new chapter: very soon we will announce new three-deck models with steel hulls and aluminum superstructures. Measurable comfort and efficiency will remain the standard across every yacht in our range.” — Atilla Kucukdiker
